Is It April Already?

As quickly as my tan fades, so do the feelings of relaxation, calm, and carefree living.

It was only a week long vacation, but the weight lifted during that time (with the exception of the first day) was something I could never accomplish here at home!

Like A (Broken) Record

“Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming.
Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming.
What do we do? We swim, swim.”

Dory – Finding Nemo

It's really strange the way the world works. A year ago, the thought of spending a few hours alone with the LO gave me tremendous and sometimes debilitating anxiety, and today... right now... all I want to do is drop all of my responsibilities and hang out with her; climb into bed and snuggle under the covers for a long nap!

Mainly because everything ELSE is giving me tremendous anxiety…

Sessions With Billie

In the last couple of weeks I met with my psychiatrist for a follow-up and had my final session with Billie. I will likely see both of them just before I go back to work or soon after to ease me through that new transition of our lives, but for now I just have a plan that I am trying to stick to.

March Madness 2014

Is it already the end of March? Looking outside, it feels like Winter is only beginning. Can we get another Christmas (2 week break included)? It has been so cold this year and the snow never seems to end! But everyone keeps telling me I am not allowed to complain since we just got back from vacation!

We normally go away for 7 days in February, but that never seems long enough so I was happy to find a good price for 10 days in March instead. It fell right on our anniversary week too so it seemed like a great idea! And it was, except that I now realize that 14 days wouldn't be too long as I had previously thought! You know what that means, right? Honestly though, it was great. The weather was beautiful except for about a day of rain, and it was a resort we have been to before and love so it really felt like going home; knowing our way around, seeing familiar faces, and settling in almost immediately. We made the most of our extra days there for sure!

DH is going to NYC next week, but only overnight. I toyed with the idea of going and extending our stay there but since we just got back and everything I decided to stay home. He is being sent to Tiffany's for me though! I figured I would save on airfare and spend the money there instead!

With March going by so fast we never made it to the Sugar Shack when we usually go. Because of some recent developments health wise, part of me knows I shouldn't be going but the rest of me is shouting "go and enjoy, in moderation"... guess which side won that argument? We will be going next week! As usual, I sent an open invitation to a bunch of people so we will see what happens; we have been as little as 2 and as many as 20 people in the past with that kind of planning!

Ahhh...

It looks like there will be palm trees in my near distant future!!! I can't wait!!! Please, please, please work out!!!

August Updates Pt. 2

We just got back from our mini vacation with the family and I am happy to report that things went really well overall. Yes, there were a few "jump in a lake" and "swim with the fishes"moments - both literally and figuratively - but, for a 4-day trip including DH and all of my in-laws (did I forget to mention that before) it could have been worse! In fact, I only read 2 chapters of one book so that should say something! This doesn't mean I am ready to travel in a pack again any time soon but it may be possible again, one day! And, now I know what to do if I ever win the lottery... move out of the city, and into a lakefront property in nowheresville!

Now, 3.5 days of work followed by another long weekend ahead... next stop... ginormous Italian/Portuguese wedding!!!

Ps. No appearance of my first little nephew yet.... but he has an awesome gift I picked up waiting for him! Actually, I think it's more for his daddy but, oh well!

August Updates

“I restore myself when I'm alone.”
Marilyn Monroe

This summer has been ridiculously busy, and the next couple of weeks will be no different - if not worse!

Went to the eye doctor yesterday and while my prescription hasn’t changed all that much, a new type of lens may make a world of difference! They are anti-fatigue lenses and seeing as I am on the computer almost all day, every day, it should help with strain and the resulting headaches that follow. I have tried something similar in the past and they were awful but these sound much better! I want to research them a bit more though. I also found frames that I fell in love with (like, didn’t want to take them off in the store), but they are 200$ on top of special extra expensive lenses so… not any time soon! When things calm down I am going to shop around and see what I can find. Why do I now have an eye for designer glasses? Currently sporting Ralph Lauren… may be moving on to Guess!

Tomorrow we start a 4-day mini-vacation weekend and it is cottage time with the in-laws. Aside from some horseback riding, nothing else is planned and that’s just fine with me! I have a couple of books packed (ok, well a Kobo full), my Ipod, and my tablet. If I do nothing but nothing I will be happy! I have my reservations about this whole group/family vacation plan but we will make the most of it no matter what happens. It isn’t the family that gets to me, specifically; there are many reasons why I generally prefer not to travel with anyone other than DH. In either case, we travel very well together so it usually all works out in the end… and if it doesn’t, we are by a lake so I can tell him (or anyone else) to go jump in it!

Next weekend is another busy 4-day weekend with my BFF/sister potentially giving birth any day now, my favorite little cousins’ ginormous wedding, and my birthday of course! And, what do I have planned for my birthday? Abso-fucking-lutely nothing and I am quite happy with that! I have only insisted on a competition fueled game of mini-putt and a nice dinner out so I don’t have to cook. And, who knows, maybe I will get enough cash to buy those glasses that I want!

So, between our short camping trip earlier this summer and this long weekend coming up, I have to say that I like the 4-5 day “staycations” we seem to be doing this year. So much so that in a couple of weeks we are going camping again!  And no, I haven’t lost my mind. I like camping a lot and we have a lot of fun – but I am still researching an amazing cruise idea for winter because I still know that I belong in the Caribbean!

Some Summer Updates

I just realized that I never wrote anything about my trip to Toronto back in May/June! Despite all of my travelling this was only my second time flying alone (both ways) so that was kind of, er, cool. My BFF picked me up at the airport and we pretty much just hung out for the weekend like old times, only grown-ups now! The main reason for the trip was just to spend some time together, but she also had her baby shower that weekend so it was great to be included in something that I generally don’t get to be a part of due to distance. She has since moved into her new home and has the adorable nursery just about ready to go! She looks radiant, has about 6 more weeks to go, and then I get to hop on a plane again and get to meet my nephew for the very first time this September! I can’t wait to see the new house either!

Also, since half the family knows by now I assume I am allowed to post this? My sister-in-law is pregnant again! So, our already 2 year old niece will be getting a little sister or brother for Christmas this year! Is it me, or does the time fly? Hopefully sometime this century we will be able to give her a little cousin too!

Um… what else?

Oh, a few weeks ago I posted an open letter to an old friend here and a few people have asked me to post an update about this. Because it is so personal and private, I will just say that the letter was seen and we did in fact get together once since then. We will just have to wait and see where things go from here… one day at a time.

Lastly, we went camping last week at the Whiteface Mountain KOA in Lake Placid, NY. We usually camp at the Ivy Lea KOA in the 1000 Islands but this place is giving it a run for its money! We really liked it there and now that we both have Nexus cards crossing the border is fast which makes this place more appealing than it used to be. We shopped in Plattsburgh (of course) and, even though it rained every day we made out extremely well; pitching the tent minutes before the rain started and buying a kitchen tent off another camper for 50$ helped! We made it to Ausable Chasm as well, but we didn’t get to do some of the other things I had planned because of the weather. Instead, we took an un-scheduled trip to Vermont by ferry and went to the Ben and Jerry’s Factory! Oh, and the most “memorable” part of the trip was first posted on Facebook as: “See baby deer on side of road. See baby deer jump out in front of car. See my heart jump out of my chest. See hubby not hit baby deer. See baby deer safe on the other side of road. Stupid baby deer!” Yes…. we are all ok… but my heart was racing a mile a minute! I guess I should also mention that I had tent envy the whole time so we have since gone out and bought a new, bigger, tent as well. I like our old tent, but I find it kind of small for longer periods of time and it’s hard to keep things away from the sides when it rains it seems. I have booked the campground again later this summer so we can try out the new mansion and I am wondering who is going to use the guesthouse with us? Any takers?

So, what’s to come? A surprise party for DH’s birthday, a family vacation, a wedding that I cannot wait for, my birthday, the arrival of my nephew, and another camping trip! This is a busy summer!

NYC 2013 - Anderson Cooper

What is it about NYC? Every time I leave that city I swear I won’t be back for years…. But now, one year later, we are back and loving it again! Here is the rundown of our trip!

Thursday March 21: We were up at 4am and in the air by 7am. We dropped our suitcases off at the Doubletree by Hilton Metropolitan and as soon as I stepped back outside I had a huge smile on my face. It was now 10am and I was close to being late so the doorman hailed a cab for me (first time in a yellow cab) and I went straight to the Anderson Live studio for my first taping and DH went to work. It was freezing cold, and we waited in line for a good 45 minutes, but it was worth it. Even though I was in the back row with a boom camera in front of my view most of the time it was so much fun! MariluHenner was co-hosting the first show and then they filmed some segments for another show with Wendy Williams. These shows are only airing on April 29 and May 9. Someone was there talking about a book she wrote and we all got a copy as well. Afterwards, I was exhausted so I went back to the hotel and waited for DH. From there, we did a little bit of shopping and ate at Red Lobster, of course.

Friday March 22: I had to be at the studio for 7am this time because I was seeing 2 tapings. Despite my lack of sleep I made it there on time and surprisingly awake. Unlike yesterday’s tapings this morning’s show would be live so this was exciting. I met some fellow Canadians in line and since it was their first show and I was now the expert we stuck together – and got seats in the first row!!! I couldn’t believe it! And, even better, JudgeMarilyn Milian from People’s Court was hosting – I love her! They even had Grumpy Cat as a guest! We were given Powerball tickets this time ( no, I didn't win anything) and some SkinnyCow chocolate too. After this live show they taped a couple of segments with…. JulianneMoore! These were a lot of fun to watch and she brought Anderson a surprise – a sloth! A living sloth, 20 feet in front of me! That was cool. After this taping we went back outside into the VIP line where I met DH and we went in for the last taping of the day. We were off to this side in this taping and while I can’t recall the co-host’s name for this show I remember that his special guest was Tim Gunn! Again, love him! At this taping we got another freebie, a book on dog training from another guest on the show. And… this is also when it happened…. This was when I was finally able to…. MEET ANDERSON COOPER! After this taping I still hadn’t gotten the chance to have him sign my copy of his book, so when he went to take pictures for the show I stood in line patiently waiting for him to come out. The staff all knew what I had been waiting for and security kept telling me he was in too much of a rush but then it happened…. One of the staff let me to him! I said hi, he said hi, he asked me what my name was and where I was from and then he shook my hand, took the book and signed it! He made it out to me and everything. I am sure I babbled like an idiot but it’s all a blur. Unfortunately, because of where he was no one I was with could snap a photo but they all know that I was with him and they all watched me come out with my knees shaking. After being on cloud 9 for a while, DH and I went over to Tiffany’s to buy a necklace I have been admiring forever now and then to an Anderson inspired restaurant choice, Shake Shack, for a late lunch/dinner. After this, one more surprise… DH took me to see Chicago on Broadway!!! I have seen this show before and LOVE it. Great seats too! Honestly, best day ever!

Saturday March 23: Lazy, sleepy, day of nothing! We woke up late, went out for a good diner breakfast, wandered around the city for a while (NYC Library, Bryant Park, Grand Central) and then came home late at night. Turned on Friday's taped show and found myself numerous times on camera! That was cool too!

So that's it. That was our trip to NYC this year. I really liked being in a live studio audience and I might try to do it again someday. Stagehands are telling you when to stand, sit, clap, scream etc... but in reality we were going to do it anyhow when we liked things so it didn't feel forced. There were only a couple of times that I felt like I was lying! Oh, and amazingly enough I got really lucky! I knew this show was being cancelled but I found out that their last day of taping is March 27th! Had DH's work trip been delayed I wouldn't have been able to do any of this! For once, his work schedule works out!

March Madness 2013

I have come to realize that March always seems to be a very busy month for me. There never seems to be enough time for anything yet SO MUCH gets done! I guess that explains why we seem to go away every February… to re-fuel!

Our trip back to DR was awesome! We have been trying to get back to that particular resort for six years now and it was definitely worth it. They have had so many issues with fraud and bad management over the years but they have recovered and it was as beautiful as ever. We didn’t really make it off the resort this time though because they were having a major heat wave! It was about 40 degrees every day when the rest of the island was at about 27-30 degrees. I admit it was nice to just sit back and relax though! I had a nice long nap on a bed by the beach one afternoon and it was refreshing! They have a timeshare package and if I had the money I would definitely be buying in and spending as much time there as possible every year! This is my new retirement plan!

We have been back for just over a week and, in the midst of work being crazy, I am now counting down to our trip to NYC! DH has his annual business trip and this year I am going with him again but for different reasons. Normally, I play tourist and shop… this time I am hanging out with Mr. Cooper! That’s right, Anderson Cooper! We will be there for three days and I scored tickets to three tapings of his talk show! The show has been cancelled at the end of this season so I am so happy I am getting the chance to go! And, yes, I know…. I am not allowed to jump up on stage, touch him, follow him around or do any other action that would be considered illegal and/or stalker-like. My only hope is that I am able to get him to sign my copy of his biography for me at some point during my time there and MAYBE get a picture with him, but being there is good enough if I can’t!

Hrm… what else? Oh! Sugar shacks opened two days ago and we were there for opening day! With things being so busy right now I wasn’t sure when or if we would make it later on so we took advantage of a quiet weekend and got our syrup fix for the year. If we make it back, we make it back… if not, there is always next year!

Anyhow, I will be a “work widow” again shortly for about a week or so and then we are off to NYC. After that we have reservations at my favorite restaurant for a belated anniversary dinner since he will be out of town on the actual date and then it’s the long Easter weekend. Still debating taking off somewhere for that weekend but we will see… I may be fed up of planes by then!

Back From Mexico!

Mexico? What? When? Yes... that's right... we took off to Mexico and barely told a soul. We were gone from July 7-14 and we were at the Grand Sunset Princess in Riviera Maya. It was a good trip overall and it was nice to get away again! But, I can honestly say that after trying Cuba again last year and finally seeing Mexico this year my heart still remains in DR and I can't wait to go back there again. I have always joked that DR is the happy medium between Cuba and Mexico and now I can say for sure that it is (to me anyhow).

Anyhow, back to work and the usual grind for now!

April Updates

Where has the time gone? April just flew by it seems… we are already in May! So, a quick update from April…

We were in NYC from April 2-5. It was a pretty good trip overall and I was able to get/do everything on my list… I just killed my feet, knees, and body in the process. I am not made to walk 100 blocks a day! And yes, I did take a lot of pictures, I just haven’t had time to post any of them yet so for those of you who have been asking, they should be up soon!

And, this last weekend from April 27-30 we were in Toronto for my BFF’s wedding reception (the one who got married in Jamaica a month ago). Lots of sleeping in and late nights! We also hit Red Lobster and Medieval Times while we were there so it was a pretty busy, but happy, weekend!

What’s planned for May? So far…. nothing!!! I will be a work widow again for about a week and a half, but other than that – peace and quiet! And I am not complaining! I need some down time.

December Updates

So my plan didn't work - the exit fee was already included in my trip so they sent me home no questions asked! Oh well! Been home for over a week now and still haven't finished unpacking, sorting out gifts, etc... been too busy and tired to care. If I had the money I would go back in a heartbeat!

And, I am still in debate over my christmas tree. Last year I did not want to put one up but after everyone kept nagging me I finally caved and did it... the big one too! This year, once again, I cannot make up my mind. On one hand I don't really care and on the other maybe I should - why, I don't know. Usually today would be the day I put it up so I guess I will figure it out tonight. Maybe I will just put the small one up. I dunno, I am just not into it at all this year.

Anyhow, that's it for now. Busy month so may not have many more updates until 2012!

Leaving On A Jet Plane... Again!

For those of you who don't already know, I am going "home" for a week and will be leaving tomorrow afternoon! I have been waiting 2 months for this trip and cannot wait to get out of here, especially after the last two weeks! And, even more exciting, I was given extra baggage allowance by the airline to bring down loads of school supplies that will be going to Sosua Kids. I believe I have enough supplies now to help send about 15 children to school next year!

In order to leave the country you have to pay 10-20$, and I have always wondered what would happen if you refused to pay. Maybe I will try it out this time so that they can keep me! And, if not, I will talk to you all soon!

Happy (Belated) Sweet Sixteen Times Two To Me!

So many things have happened over the last week that I just haven’t had the chance to write a thing until now! Let’s get caught up.

Let’s begin by recapping my horrible-turned-wonderful day last Tuesday. So, as you all know I got my beloved Kobo e-reader last year on my birthday. I cannot live without this thing! So, I was just next to work about to get off the bus and the driver slams on the breaks. My purse hit one of the poles and I heard a small crack from my bag but I thought nothing of it at the time. Later, on the way home, I take my Kobo out and see that it was ruined! It won’t turn on, the screen is all grey with black lines through it, and my first thought was “I am leaving in 2 days, I need my book”! Thankfully a friend was with me on the bus or I probably would have sobbed the whole way home (only half kidding). Anyhow, so I get home and I race to the bookstore to buy a paper copy of the book because I really love it and to talk to them about my Kobo. The manager takes one look at it and says “Oh, I’ve seen that before. Why don’t you take a look at the new model” and starts showing me all the features. Now, don’t get me wrong, I loved the new model but really didn’t want to spend another 140$ plus 30$ for a new cover (because the new one is smaller). Reluctantly, I agree, and the guy rings it up and says 80 something dollars. What??? He gave me a 100$ bill credit for my defective Kobo!!! I kept my mouth closed about the damage, took my new Kobo and ran! On the way home I realized that I forgot to buy the book but it was getting late so I didn’t bother going back. But, to my surprise, when I get home a copy of the book is waiting for me in my mailbox! My friend on the bus saw how upset I was and went to the bookstore herself to buy it for me as a birthday present! Oh, and I LOVE the new Kobo so all in all it turned out to be a great day! Thank you for making me smile AND for the book!

So, that was Tuesday. On Thursday, my actual birthday, we set out for the waterslides up north. It was raining at home but the forecast said sunny where we were headed so I bought my tickets online (to save 50%) and we left. And the weatherman was WRONG. Dark clouds, cool winds, and rain rain rain! But, we already had our tickets so we braved it like a couple of crazy people. It turned out not to be so bad all things considered and we had 4 hours of fun followed by a wonderful dinner at a nearby Creperie. And that was where the fun comes to an end. We arrived at our usual spa around 8pm and we were nothing but disappointed. They have renovated so we no longer had our usual room. Our new room was overpriced, moldy and dusty but it was late so we decided to stay and handle things in the morning after breakfast. Hah, breakfast! A tiny cold buffet and they no longer serve hot food like eggs or pancakes. So, after my toast and peanut butter I got into an argument with them about wanting to leave a day early, disagreed on the refund they were offering but ended up accepting it and leaving the spa for the whole day just so we didn’t have to be there. We came back for our massage in the afternoon (because my shoulder is acting up again) and then we went home. We won’t be going back there ever again! I have a long review on tripadvisor if anyone wants to read it and already know the next spa I will be going to instead. A little more money but 5 star service! Oh, and while we were avoiding the spa we did a little shopping at the outlet malls and I bought some new running shoes and a Guess purse that I am in love with!

Saturday and Sunday were just spent relaxing, getting some things done around the house, visiting family and having an interesting slalom across the Champlain Bridge due to hurricane Irene.

And, last but not least, we went out for groceries yesterday and while we were there we bought a small birthday cake since I never really had one. DH even put a candle in it and sang Happy Birthday to me! Awe! So, all in all not a bad birthday this year I guess!

Cuba Trip - January 29 to February 5, 2011

The first question everyone seems to ask me is why Cuba and not my beloved Dominican Republic this year? Well, for one, DH wanted a change of pace so it was either Mexico or Cuba. Secondly, some family had just returned from this resort in Cuba so we knew exactly what we were getting and with no time to research it just made life easier.

Now, maybe it’s just me but in some ways it seems like our trip to Cuba was cursed the minute I booked it! However, in the end, I have to say that everything was pretty good and should I ever go back to Cuba I will definitely stay at this resort again and I would recommend it to anyone of any age as well. It had something for everyone!

The curse: About 4 days after booking the trip, I was looking into prices for someone else and found that had I waited just a little longer I could have saved 300$ each!!! I had only booked 8 days in advance so I didn’t think the price would have changed that much at that point. Then, 3 days before leaving I caught one of my dreaded sinus/ear/throat infections and had to get antibiotics the morning before we left because I was in so much pain! In addition, the day before that I took a chunk out of my ankle shaving and DH burnt his hand on the stove burner. Anything that could have gone wrong before the trip went wrong! Then, to make matters worse, our flight was delayed leaving for Cuba and I needed to take my antibiotics so I took them… without food. About an hour later, dinner was served on the plane and after just 1 bite I thought I was going to throw up. I managed to control it for a little while but then I had to race to the bathroom and there went a day’s worth of food and antibiotics! I don’t know if there is a mile high club for vomiting on an airplane, but if there is, I don’t suggest any of you join it!!! It was an awful experience. To make matters worse, after landing in Cuba we had to wait 2 hours for our luggage! We finally arrived at our resort around 3am! Very, very, long day….

Air Transat: I know that we have flown Air Transat before, but for some reason this trip was much more enjoyable. The seats were leather, large and comfy. I got to pre-select my seats so I took the window and DH got the aisle next to me so that was nice. The plane going was 2 seats, aisle, 4 seats, aisle, and then 2 more seats. On the way home the plane was 3 seats, aisle, 3 seats, aisle, 3 seats and we got lucky! We got a whole section to ourselves. We got to sleep in peace!

The hotel: Iberostar Laguna Azul - simply gorgeous. I have seen many pictures on-line and none of them really show just how grand this place looks. Just driving up the road to it I was in awe. It looks like a large villa in Spain. Clean, spacious, multiple pools, long and clean beach, chairs galore by the water, nice landscaping, you name it! If you want to see pictures just ask! I haven’t had a chance to post any yet.

The rooms: Large, clean, lots of hot water and good pressure, plenty of towels left by the maids, and even joining rooms if you want them! The only thing that I didn’t like was that our room, 16319, is on the same floor as the main lobby and elevators. This was very convenient, but also very LOUD at 2am when people are leaving the club and at 7am when people are checking out. The view was great though and the central location of the room was good, but I would rather be a floor up or down in future.

Food and drink: Drink – no complaints. Food – you won’t starve but you won’t be going back for seconds either, unless you are at the a la carte restaurants! The breakfast buffet had your standard omelet bar, pancake station, fruits, etc… but I found their bacon disgusting. It was mostly fatty and undercooked. Their lunch buffets remain pretty consistent but you have a couple to choose from. I found that lunch became more of a “snack” to tide me over until dinner. Dinner was odd. The buffet was not very good at all in my opinion; tough meat, not much selection, and often undercooked. But, the a la carte restaurants were so could I would have paid extra for them! We took our standard 3 reservations and after 2 nights of those I could not face the buffet again so we went to an a la carte and asked if they had room and they seated us with no problems. If I go back, I am hitting the restaurants every day! Now, for the restaurants… we ate at the steak house and had perfectly cooked and tender meat with a nice quiet atmosphere outdoors by one of the quiet pools. I hadn’t eaten much for 2 days at this point so it was heavenly. The following night we went to the Cuban restaurant for some lobster. Not the same lobster I am used to from home but still quite good. The next night we snuck into the Romantico and I had some really great lamb. Very good! And on the last night we tried the Japanese restaurant everyone had been talking about on tripadvisor – and I have to say that while the food was good, the show was awful. For anyone who has ever been to proper Japanese restaurants the show is really dreadful and laughable, but for those who have not been it’s a nice introduction I guess.

The entertainment: The first 2 nights had singing and dancing shows and I have had just about my fill of those over the years so I was preparing for the worst… but then things just got better and better all week! My only complaint has nothing to do with the entertainment – it’s the guests. I understand that we are in Cuba, the land of cigars…. But in a mostly closed in venue with kids and bad air circulation, do NOT light a cigar! I was sick the week we were in Cuba and had to carry my asthma pump with me everywhere because of the inconsiderate smokers. I have to say that this is not something I have ever experienced before when travelling to DR so this took me by surprise. The other thing that bothers me about Cuba is that there really isn’t much to do at all off the resort. I had thought about the Catamaran but not for 100$+!

What to buy and where to buy it: Alcohol, cigarettes, and cigars along with the regular souvenir stuff are pretty much equally priced on the resort as it is at the airport and anywhere else from what I saw/heard. The only thing we were unable to get at the resort was coffee oddly and we had to grab that in the airport itself. We did not bother going into Varadero for the day as there was really only shopping to do there and we weren’t interested. Oh, and interesting point… you can buy Prozac, Valium, and Viagra at the airport!

So, that’s it. I would definitely recommend it if you just want to relax, travel with family or a large group of friends… but as another “just the 2 of us” trip I would have to say DR still holds my heart! So much more to see and do and they know how to cook!

Friendship, Family and BFF'S

Have you ever had a friend who was so close that you considered them more like family? Well, for various reasons I am fortunate to have a small handful of those friends… but one in particular stands out.

We have known each other for over 20 years and I hope that it is only the beginning of our friendship. We have been separated by schools, groups of friends, life choices, and now provinces… but I think we both know now that nothing can tear us apart.

Of all my friends, no one is ever closer to my heart than this one… and I am happy to say that tomorrow I get to leave Quebec (and all of its St-Jean-Baptiste celebrations) to spend some time with my BFF in her home away from home, Toronto. So, without naming names (because you know who you are)... I love you and we will see you tomorrow!!!

And, on that note… see the rest of you in a week or so!

Round 2: Step 1 Update

We just got back from Crazy Town (NYC)! Good trip but a bit of sensory overload. Not somewhere I want or need to go back to any time in the near future! I did manageto pick up some Pre-Seed while in New York though. Not sure if it is as good as it claims to be but it can't hurt to try it!

Now for the update... like clockwork, 4 days after the last Provera... AF arrived! YAY! I will be starting the Clmoid tomorrow at 100mg and my next ultrasound is scheduled for April 19th.

Fingers and toes crossed!

Round 2: Step 1

So we begin again... I started the Provera today and hopefully things will go smoothly with this step like it did in February. My bags are packed, easter dinner tomorrow, and then we leave early Sunday morning for NYC! I have a whole bunch of things I want to do while we are in there but at the same time... if they don't get done they don't get done. No stress... people watching can be just as entertaining! I may or may not be posting while we are away. We'll see.

Happy Easter everyone!

Quotes...

A friend posted this as her Facebook status, and I couldn't agree more so I decided to paste it here...

"Just think, if there were no bumps in the road of life,
your entire existence would be like an eternal drive through the Prairies....
not very fun, and certainly not memorable - bland, boring and redundant.
Embrace the bumps, they're actually the spice."

Round 2: Step 1 starts Friday! If all goes well I should be able to avoid all the nasty side effects while I am in NYC. But unfortunately, DH won't be able to avoid them when we get home : )
