Only An Aunt: Continued

A month ago I wrote a somewhat cryptic post about becoming an aunt again… and I am so excited because today I get to break my silence and share the news!

So, for those of you who have not figured it out yet (and for those of you who did but I could not confirm because it was understandably too early and you would expect me to do the same for you) I am excited to announce that my BFF, my little sister, my favorite person in the whole wide world (and her husband) is going to be a mama! And, not only are they expecting, but the baby is due on my birthday weekend as well! I can’t wait to become an aunt again!

A million congratulations to you both and I can’t wait to see you and give you and my future niece or nephew a huge hug!!! I love you guys with all my heart!!!

Iyanla Vanzant

“When you see that what you are doing, what you have chosen is not working, make another choice. Choice simply means that you recognize the conflict, chaos, or pain the first choice has created; you choose to eliminate that experience by making another choice.”

I realize that I am a bit late discovering her, but I have recently become fascinated by Iyanla Vanzant! Most of you already know I have a huge (and some would say unhealthy) obsession with Anderson Cooper, right? Well, for a while he wouldn’t stop mentioning Iyanla so I decided that I had to check her out – and I am so glad that I did! She is amazing!

She is a spiritual life coach and if you take a look at her Twitter feed you should see why I am so drawn to her. The things she says are so down to earth and honest, and best of all – simple! Everything she says makes so much sense if you just listen to the words. She has a television show called Iyanla: Fix My Life that I started watching just last week and I was hooked after only one episode. She is also an author and I am hoping to pick up one of her books soon!

If you don’t already know who she is, take a minute to look her up!

Happy Friday everyone!
